Katie Mazur: Violin Soloist, Easter 2018
I started playing the violin at the age of 7 having lessons with an undergraduate from the Royal College of Music in London and taking the ABRSM grading system; achieving distinctions in all grades by the age of 12. I also studied with Ron Colyer who is an accomplished musician in his own right.
Whilst studying with Ron at the age of 10, I gained a place at the Primary Department of the Royal Academy of Music in London and continued on to the Junior Department for 4 years.
I have played with various orchestras whilst attending many music courses such as the International Music Festival in Malta, MusicWorks, the Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra, The International Music festival in the Lake District, The National Youth Orchestra and The Watford Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Currently I am in the junior department of The Royal College of Music in London and study with Professor Berent Korfker. I am lead violinist of The Berkshire County Youth Orchestra and have recently auditioned to various music colleges for my undergraduate course. I am delighted to say that I will be going to the senior department of The Royal College of Music in London in September 2018.
