Cara Doyle

Cara Doyle: Clarinet Soloist, Summer 2018

Cara first started learning the clarinet with Hounslow Music Service in 2010. She
soon began to enjoy performing, an early highlight being Gampieri’s Carnival of
Venice when on tour to Verona with HMS, and the Mozart Clarinet Quartet for a
memorial concert in 2014. She moved to Junior Royal Academy of Music in 2015
to study with Marie Lloyd. Performances at RAM include playing Abime des
oiseaux from Messiean’s Quartet for the End of Time and Jӧrg Widmann’s
Fantasie. From 2014 – 2017 She was the principle of the London Schools
Symphony Orchestra with concerts including Rachmaninoff’s second symphony
conducted by Ed Gardner and playing the second movement of the Mozart
Clarinet Concerto with the chamber orchestra. Cara has just finished her first
undergraduate year at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying with
James Burke. Some of her most enjoyable experiences were with Guildhall’s UBU
(the contemporary music ensemble) and working with young composers on new
compositions. Cara hopes to carry on exploring the world of contemporary music
as well as expanding her classical repertoire.
